The continent of Africa is at a critical turning point. Never before in history has the extreme poverty in Africa gained this level of media coverage. As a result, Americans are better educated and more aware of this situation than ever before. It is estimated that one child dies every five seconds due to hunger related issues, which adds up to over 16,000 children every day. Unlike some terminal illnesses which are unpreventable, hunger is different. The key to eradicating hunger is education and action.
